Role
Back office development and mobile app support

TL;DRWe worked on the back office of Sport Buddy, the web console where organizers and rink operators run groups, competitions, and ice bookings, and helped the team with the React Native app that players use.

Sport Buddy is a platform for amateur sport. Players use the mobile app to join games and follow their season, while organizers and rink operators run groups, tournaments, leagues, ice time, and payments from a web console.

The challenge

Amateur sport runs on group chats, spreadsheets, and paper diaries at the rink. Organizers chase RSVPs by hand, rinks double-book the ice, and nobody has one place to see who plays where and when. The platform needed one console that holds groups, events, tournaments, leagues, and rink calendars together.

The solution

We worked on the back office, the React application where organizers manage rosters, events, competitions, and rink schedules, backed by an Apollo GraphQL API and MongoDB. We also helped with the React Native app that players use to RSVP and follow their games, so organizers and players always see the same schedule.
